2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid: Release Date, Review

At the Geneva Motor Show, the Infiniti Company has introduced one of its most popular model- the all new 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid. This luxury sedan was firstly introduced back in 2014, and after that it has been redesigned as the 2016 model year. So, this time the 2018 Infiniti is set to receive plenty of mild but noticeable changes.

The body will feature revised front and rear fascias, so it will still look very handsome only slightly refreshed. The interior will also be refined and will get upgraded technology features. The engine options will remain the same which includes a choice of 4-cylinder, V-6 and a hybrid units. The Q50 will be available in several trim levels. Those are the base Pure, mid-range Luxe and Sport and the top trim Red Sport 400. All the variants will differ in price, exterior styling and of course equipment. The Q50 Hybrid model will be offered in Luxe and Sport trims. The main competitors of the new Infiniti will be BMW 330e and Mercedes-Benz AMG C63.

The standard Infiniti will be offered with several types of engines. The base model will come with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit which will be able to make 208 horses and 258 pound-feet of torque. The higher trims will get a 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged engine. This unit will have to output of 300 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque in Luxe and Sport trims while in Red Sport 400 will be able to develop even 400 horses and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will use a combination of 3.5-liter V-6 engine and an electric motor of 67 horses. All together, they will be able to make 360 horsepower. The engine will be coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission which will be the only option for all the units. It will be available with both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations. As for the fuel efficiency, with RWD, Q5 Hybrid is rated at 27 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg combined. With AWD, it will show 26/30/28 mpg in the city/highway/combined.

Design of exterior and interior

The all-new 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will receive light yet visible refreshments all over the body which will make it look more aggressive and stylish. Both front and rear fascias will receive a few cosmetic changes. The grille will get sharper surround, more angular bumper and lower air intakes. On the rear, we will notice restyled and more modern LED taillights and revised bumper. Moreover, the new Q50 Hybrid will ride on 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will be sufficiently spacious, comfortable and modern. The front and rear seats are very cozy and have plenty of space. The dashboard will get some interesting and nicely-looking chrome and leather details. Furthermore, it will feature an 8-inch touchscreen with InTouch infotainment system.

New Infiniti will be very-well equipped. Some of the standard features will be: Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, audio system with 6 speakers, satellite radio, a sunroof, Bose audio with 16 speakers, intelligent cruise control and so on. The leather upholstery will be standard in Sport trim.

The 2018 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid should be available in following months. As for the price, the hybrid version will depend on a drivetrain. So, for the RWD model we can expect the price of around $51,000 and $53,000 for all-wheel drive version.
