Volvo XC90 combines Swedish sense of luxury with the classy exterior and an abundance of high-tech features. The 2018 Volvo XC90 T8 Plug-In Hybrid packs the same 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engines as the T6 but also has the rear axle-mounted electric motor. In this application, the four-cylinder engine produces 313 hp and torque of 295 lb-ft. The electric motor can provide 87 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. The part of the system is also an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels. The battery with the 9.2-kWh capacity takes the position in the tunnel between the front seats. With the 13.2-gallon fuel tank, the XC90 T8, according to EPA, should provide 350 miles of the total range.

As for the recharging time, the 240-volt charger needs about 2.5 hours to fully recharge the battery.

The green version of the XC90 comes in four trim options.

The Momentum version includes 19-inch wheels, four-zone climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, interior illumination, etc. The tech side covers 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, voice commands, Apple Car Play and Android Auto features, etc. Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection with rear cross traffic alerts and so far, available features.

The sportier R-Design trim upgrades with 20-inch alloys, unique exterior details, sport steering wheel and seats, unique upholstery, etc.

The Inscription version features unique wheels, upgraded upholstery, ventilated front seats, etc. The Excellence has two captain’s chairs at the rear. It also adds upgraded upholstery, heated and cooled cup holders, massaging function, 21-inch wheels, an air suspension, improved sound insulation, etc.
