2018 Tesla Model X: Price, Review, Release Date

Absolutely stunning, quick, efficient and very spacious all-electric SUV is announced for the next year. It is the all new 2018 Tesla Model X. The company promises that the upcoming Model X is going to represent the quickest, safest and most capable SUV on the road.

This family-oriented sport utility vehicle will offer several seating configurations and will be perfect for large families. It will offer numerous safety systems and lots of infotainment features. The upcoming Tesla Model X is underpinned on the modified platform of the Model S. Furthermore, as for the powertrain, it will also be available in several configurations which will differ in a battery capacity and range.

The main rivals of the new Tesla will be Jaguar I-PACE, Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Bentley Bentayga, Cadillac Escalade and Volvo XC90.

The 2018 Tesla Model X is an electric vehicle which is powered with two electric motors and a battery pack. However, depending on a size of the battery, the upcoming SUV will provide different range and performance. So, the base Model X called 75D will feature a 75 kWh battery. This unit will have a range of 237 miles. The top speed of this one will be 130 mph and it will be able to hit 60 mph in 6 seconds.

The next 90D model will use a battery of 90 kWh providing the range of 257 miles, top speed of 155 mph and the acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The last one will be a 100D model. It will be powered with a 100 kWh battery and a range of 295 miles. This unit will be able to reach 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds which is amazing. The all-wheel drive system will be standard.

Design of exterior and interior

Speaking of the exterior design of the 2018 Tesla Model X, there won’t be any significant changes compared to the current model. It will feature the same elegant, nicely sculpted body with clean lines. The front end will feature familiar grille design and narrow LED headlamps. It will feature Falcon wing rear doors which will make the access to the second and the third much easier. This model will ride on 20-inch alloy wheels while the larger 22-inch ones will be optional.

Inside, the 2018 Tesla Model X will offer plenty of space. It will be offered with three seating configurations with two or three rows of seats. So, it depending on your choice, it will be able to welcome five, six or seven passengers. The exact arrival of the 2018 Tesla Model X is still not known. Its starting price should be around $83,000 while the top trims will go up to $145,000.
