2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid: Review, Release Date

The Lexus’s smallest and affordable hybrid hatchback is ready to hit the market with a few upgrades. It is the 2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid. The CT200h has been firstly introduced back in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show. Since then, it has always been known for its reliability and great fuel efficiency. So, with these minor upgrades in the styling, we believe that it is going to be even more popular than before. However, according to the latest rumors, this model will no longer be sold in United States but it should be available for the other markets.

The 2018 model year is expected to arrive with minimal but noticeable changes. The exterior should feature some small adjustments of the both front and rear fascias. The cabin will also been slightly refreshed and upgraded with the lager infotainment screen. In the engine department, the new Lexus CT200h should feature the same hybrid unit as in the outgoing model.

Under the hood, the upcoming 2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid will use the same engine as the current model.  It is a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle engine, firstly used in the Prius model and an electric motor. The total output of this engine is 134 horsepower. The fuel efficiency is expected to be great as in its predecessor.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to exterior design, the 2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid will be slightly refreshed all over the body. So, on the front end, there will be a revised brand recognizable spindle grille with new mesh pattern. The headlamps will be sleeker and the new daytime running lights will be now placed above them. The fog lights will be now painted in metallic grey shade. The whole front fascia will now look more aggressive but in the same time more modern and elegant. Moving to the rear, there will be new L-shaped taillights equipped with LED lighting. As the matter of fact, the headlamps will also use LED. Furthermore, the rear bumper will be redesigned too and will give it more aggressive appearance.

The new CT500h will ride on standard 15-inch wheels while the larger 16-inch ten-spoke and 17-inch dark metallic alloy will be available also. As well, the new Lexus will offer new two-tone exterior color scheme.

Speaking of interior, the 2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid will offer one of the most quality, luxurious and finest cabin in its class. The seats will be very cozy and upholstered in two-tone finest leather. However, the buyers will be able to choose between all-fabric, all-leather and mix of fabric and synthetic leather upholstery. What is new for the 2018 model year is the larger 10.3-inch screen with latest infotainment system on the center of the dashboard. Furthermore, the Lexus Safety System + will be now standard. This package will include adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system, lane keep assist and automatic high beams.

Release date and price

The 2018 Lexus CT200h Hybrid should arrive later this year. Its price should be slightly higher than the price of the current model.
