2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid: Review, Release Date, Specs

The latest Nissan has recently been presented to the world with several improvements for the 2018 model year. However, besides the standard version, the Company will also introduce the hybrid model as well. So, this time, we are talking about the new 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid.

The Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover which stands between the smaller Juke and Rogue Sport and the larger Murano and Pathfinder models. It also represents the Company’s only hybrid car in the offer so far. The Rogue offers excellent interior space, great safety features and a hybrid engine under its hood which is more fuel efficient than the rest of the lineup.

The 2018 model year will arrive with some tech improvements this time. Those will include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as the standard equipment. In addition to that, there will also be the ProPilot Assist which will be optional. As well, it will arrive with the upgraded Midnight Edition package which will include some new black accents in exterior styling and new exterior colors. Those will include Midnight and Scarlet Ember.

Under the hood of the 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will be placed a hybrid drivetrain. It will be a combination of a 2.0-liter inline-4 which has the output of 141 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque and an electric motor of 40 horses and 118 pound-feet of torque. All together, they will be able to develop around 176 horsepower. This engine will pair with a continuously variable transmission. Furthermore, it will be available with front- and all-wheel-drive configurations. As for the fuel efficiency, with FWD it gets 33 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. While with AWD, it is rated at 31/34 mpg in the city/highway drive.

Besides the hybrid, the 2018 Nissan Rogue will also be powered by a traditional engine. It is going to be a 2.5-liter inline-4 which is able to develop 170 hp and 175 pound-feet of torque. This unit will also be offered with front- and all-wheel-drive configurations.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to exterior design, the 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will feature the same design of the standard model. There will surely be some small additional details in order to differ from the rest of the lineup. But generally, the Rogue will look handsome and modern. It will ride on 17-inch wheels while the larger 18- and 19-inch wheels will be optional.

Inside, the 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will be able to welcome up to five passengers. The optional third row won’t be available this time. The seats are generally comfortable and supportive and upholstered in cloth. However, the higher trims will receive leather upholstery. The dashboard will feature a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Speaking of the equipment, it will come standard with power windows and locks, Bluetooth, keyless entry, and audio system with four speakers. The higher trims will add adaptive cruise control, navigation, tinted windows, more speakers and alloy wheels.

Release date and price

The 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is already available on the market. Speaking of the price, it should be very similar to the price of the current model which is around $34,000.
