2018 Honda City Hybrid: Specs, Review, Design

The Honda City is a compact car produced by the well-known Japanese manufacturer and which was first introduced back in 1981. It has become one of the most popular subcompact sedans in the Philippines. During the years it has changed a lot getting a more modern design and upgraded technology which will also be the case with the 2018 model year. So, as we can conclude the 2018 Honda City is finally getting some changes in the exterior design and more features all for the same price. However, that is not all. If the latest rumors are true, the attractive City sedan should get a hybrid engine too under its hood. So, this time we will say a few words about the latest 2018 Honda City Hybrid.

The newest Honda City will, of course, arrive with the traditional unit too while the hybrid unit is supposed to be a bit powerful and should provide even better fuel efficiency. Visually, the hybrid version should be identical to the standard model and we can only expect it to differ just in some small details. It should be the same with the interior and equipment as well.

2018 Honda City Hybrid engine and performance

Under the hood of the standard Honda City will be placed the same engine as before. It is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC engine. This unit is able to make up to 120 horses and around 107 pound-feet of torque. The base model comes with a continuously variable transmission while it will also be available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The front-wheel-drive system will be standard.

However, the newest 2018 Honda City Hybrid will feature a hybrid powertrain. Although there is still no any official information, we assume that it will most likely be a combination of the same 1.5-liter 4-cylinder unit and an electric motor. Unfortunately, the exact output of this drivetrain is still unknown. But of course, it will definitively be more powerful and fuel efficient too.
