The Q5 represents one of the Audi’s most popular and best-selling vehicles in its class. This luxury crossover SUV is a perfect combination of conservative style, modern and comfortable cabin and excellent technology. It has arrived all-new for 2018 and according to the latest rumors the German manufacturer is working on the newest 2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid.
The 2019 Audi Q5 is expected to arrive unchanged from the current model which has been fully revised for 2018. Perhaps, the changes aren’t that visible in the exterior styling but underneath. It is now a bit larger because it now rides on the upgraded version of the VW Group’s MLB platform. However, despite the increase in size, the Q5 will be now lighter for around 200 pounds. Inside the cabin, the Audi Q5 has been revised for a more luxurious look. As well, it will be equipped with latest infotainment and safety features. It is available in three trim levels which include Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.
Its main rivals on the market will be Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Volvo XC60, Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X3 and Lexus RX 350.
2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid engine and performance
The 2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid will feature a hybrid powertrain naturally. It will most likely be a combination of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery. The traditional engine will have the output of 188 hp and 236 pound-feet of torque while the electric motor will make 108 horses and the torque of 221 pound-feet. The engine will pair with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and the all-wheel drive system will be standard. The battery will provide an all-electric range of 31 miles. Moreover, this unit will be the quickest in the Q5 lineup.
Design of exterior and interior
The 2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid will look like the standard version of this model aside from the badging. It features a conservative and handsome look. The 2018 model has gotten slightly longer front fascia which is dominated by the hexagonal chrome grille and narrow headlamps. They come with standard HID and optional LED lighting. Furthermore, on the rear, there will be new LED tail lamps. It will ride on 18-inch wheels while the Prestige trim will get larger 20-inch alloy wheels.
Speaking of the interior, the 2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid will feature cozy, nicely designed and modern cabin. All the seats are extremely comfortable and upholstered in leather. For more luxurious look, the wood trims with glossy or matte finishes will be optional. The cargo space is also very good. The dashboard will feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen with the infotainment system and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity also.
As for the equipment, all models come with tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, audio system with 10 speakers, CD player, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. The Premium Plus will add blind-spot monitors, automatic braking, a power panoramic moonroof, and LED headlamps. The Prestige will include Bang & Olufsen audio with 19 speakers, 20-inch wheels and so on.
Release date and price
The 2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid might arrive later this year or in early 2019. The price should be similar to the one of the current model which is around $48,000.
