2019 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid: Review, Design, Price

The current generation of the Infiniti’s good-looking sedan, the Q50, has entered the market back in 2014, and has been revamped as the 2016 model year. And now, the Infiniti manufacturer has decided to give in a mild refresh which will go on sale as the 2018 Infiniti Q50. This luxury sports sedan is available with a hybrid unit too alongside the traditional engines. And according to the latest rumors, the Company is planning the newest 2019 version so this time we will talk about the new 2019 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid.

The newest 2019 Infiniti Q50 is expected to arrive with minimal or even no changes since it has been just revised. Those changes include restyled front and rear fascias considering exterior. Inside the cabin, there will be a new steering wheel and some new driver assistance features. Under the hood, there shouldn’t be any changes and there will be a choice of diesel, petrol and hybrid powertrains.

Its main rivals on the market will be Dodge Charger, Ford Taurus, Acura TLX, Toyota Avalon and Buick LaCrosse.

Under the hood of the 2019 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will be placed the same hybrid drivetrain used in the current model. It is a 3.5-liter V-6 combined with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The total output of this unit will be 360 horses. The engine will pair with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, there will be a choice of rear-wheel and all-wheel drive systems. As for the fuel economy, with RWD, it gets 27 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive system, it is rated at 26/30/28 mpg in the city/highway/combined.

On the other hand, the Infiniti Q50 will also be available with traditional engines. The one is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with the output of 208 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. There is also a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo engine which can produce 300 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque. In the Red Sport 400 trim, this unit is able to develop 400 hp and the torque of 350 pound-feet.

Design of exterior and interior

The 2019 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will most likely continue with the same styling as the 2018 model which has been slightly refreshed. Both front and rear end have been revamped with a new grille, new taillights and more aggressive look of the front in the Red Sport 400 trim.

Inside, the 2019 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will offer pleasant, cozy and modern cabin. However, the materials used in its design are not that quality as expect from a luxury car. The dashboard will feature dual-screen infotainment system which consists of a 7.0-inch screen and the other of 8.0-inches. As for the equipment, it will come standard with dual-zone climate control, power seats, Infiniti’s InTouch infotainment system and so on. The Luxe trim will add a power moonroof and 18-inch wheels while the Sport will get leather seats and many others.

Release date and price

The carmaker still hasn’t revealed when the 2019 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid will go on sale. Its price is expected to be similar to the current model starts at around $35,000.
