The Tesla Company claims that the Tesla Model X is one of the safest sport utility vehicles ever built. It is an all-electric SUV which provides very cozy and quiet ride, excellent performance and a large infotainment touchscreen. It is available in five- and seven-seat configurations and it offers three versions which differ in performance. So, there are 75D, 100D and the most powerful P100D. The carmaker has recently presented the 2018 model year but they are also working on the newest version which will go on sale as the 2019 Tesla Model X.
The Tesla Model X shares most of the things with the Model S except it offers more cargo space, more power and it is able to accommodate more passengers. As well, it has the towing capacity of around 5,000 pounds. It is recognizable by its unique Falcon Wing doors which have sensors so it can be opened even at the tight places without any problem. The 2019 model year will most likely carry over the same design and same performance as the current model and we don’t expect any significant changes.
2019 Tesla Model X powertrain
The 2019 Tesla Model X will most likely continue to be powered by the same engine as the current model and there are three options. All the versions are equipped with a pair of electric motors each placed on the front and the rear axles, so they power all wheels. As well, there is a lithium-ion battery placed under the cabin floor but they differ in power.
So, the 75D features a battery pack of 75 kWh and have a range of 238 miles. Its total output is 518 horses. The 100D comes with a 100 kWh battery and offers a range of 295 miles. The most powerful version is P100D which uses the same battery as the previous version but it has stronger performance. It is able to develop 680 ponies and the torque of 791 pound-feet. It has a range of 289 miles. Furthermore, all the models work with a one-speed transmission. The P100D is very quick and it can hit 60 mph in only 3.2 seconds.
External appearance and design of the interior
The 2019 Tesla Model X will probably feature the same look of the current model which shares some design cues with the Model S and the Model 3. The front end is grille-free and features a V-shape design. The whole body is designed in a way it provides excellent aerodynamic and it rides on the large 20-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin of the 2019 Tesla Model X will get clean, elegant and simple design. On the center of the dashboard dominates a large 17-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. The seats are comfortable and covered in quality leather. It is able to welcome up to five of seven passengers depending on a seating configuration.
As for the safety, it comes with a rearview camera, 12 airbags, blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking, and active lane controls as standard. Furthermore, it will also be available with keyless ignition, LED ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, audio system with 9 speakers, Bluetooth and so on.
Release date and price
The 2019 Tesla Model X should be priced similarly to the current model which starts at around $79,500. However, the release date is not yet available.
